The Union of European Medical Specialists (UEMS) will host its 1st UEMS Congress from 27 to 30 May 2026 at UZ Leuven, Campus Gasthuisberg (Belgium). This landmark European event will bring together medical specialists, trainees, and key health stakeholders to address major challenges facing European healthcare systems.
The scientific programme will focus on health AI and machine learning, medical workforce development, healthcare system resilience, mental health of medical professionals, green and sustainable practice, work–life balance, and responses to disasters and crises. For PRM physicians, the Congress offers a unique opportunity to engage in cross-specialty dialogue on rehabilitation workforce planning, digital innovation, and integrated responses to health system crises—key areas shaping the future of rehabilitation medicine in Europe. The Congress will feature oral presentations, workshops, symposia, debates, panel discussions, and extensive networking opportunities, including a mentorship initiative.
